Funeral Services Held Saturday for Mrs Paxton in Ogden
Funeral services for Mrs Maria Paxton and her daughter were held at the Par-W East Ward Chapel in Ogden with Bishop Ward presiding. Speakers included Stake President W. Clare Rowley and Joseph E Ward. Music featured Macfarlane and Quist, with soloists under Romo Mitchell and Joan Bayles. Members of the Paxton family, notably eight grandsons as pallbearers, attended along with numerous relatives and friends from Utah. The cemetery grave was dedicated by Bishop Theodore Taylor of Provo.

Parowan Woman Sarah Stevens Dies at 84
Mrs. Sarah Ann Eyre Stevens, 84, longtime Parowan resident and active Latter day Saints church worker, died Friday March 24 at her daughter’s Parowan home after four months of illness. Born Sept 13, 1865 in Parowan to John and Sarah Eyre, she was the eldest of sixteen, married John Stevens in 1884, who died in 1934. She leaves 12 children, seven of whom survive, including John Stevens of Cowpokes Wyoming and Walter Stevens of Byron Wyoming, with many roles in Relief Society, visiting teaching for over 50 years, Primary work, and genealogical committee service. Lost ex sailor hunted after breakdown in Paro town
An anxious late night search followed a four service man who suffered a nervous breakdown in Salt Lake City bound travel. Police and residents hunted the man who escaped his car and wandered cold streets. He entered homes seeking shelter before being found at the Rollins residence and later taken to a veterans hospital for treatment.

Principal supports note the gym transformed into a mermaid filled scene with silvered walls 8000 green napkins forming wave like ceilings and a sunken ship orchestra stage. Each student entered with partner to an artistic floor show maintaining a vivid ocean atmosphere.

Funeral Services for Helen Aurelia Taylor Saturday
Funeral services for Helen Aurelia Taylor will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. in Parowan West Ward Chapel. Mrs Taylor died Wednesday at her Parowan home after a four month illness. She was born December 1, 1867 in Parowan to John and Martha Hyatt and was the last of nine siblings. She married Thomas Taylor in 1880. he died in 1904. Survived by ten of eleven children, thirty-two grandchildren, and eighteen great grandchildren. Burial in Parowan City Cemetery after viewing at home 10 a.m. to service time.

Last Rites Held For Lucey Stapley
Last rites were held for Lucy Ann Barton Stapley in Paragonah Ward Chapel Monday March 20. The 73 year old Paragonah resident died of a heart attack Friday March 17. Bishop Gilbert Robinson conducted the service with speakers incl County agent Lament E. Tuller and K Doyle Robinson. A Cappella trio and several ladies sang, and grandchildren served as pallbearers. Burial prayers were given by Bishop Whatcott.

The Parowan Stake plans a welfare fundraiser on April 3 to support the newly purchased 85 acre Stake Welfare farm. Funds will cover the down payment and loaned balance, with an evening program including a Deanna Durbin film "The Amazing Mr. Day" and dancing in the school auditorium.
