Mrs Grace Gurr president of East Ward Relief Society announces the first meeting of the month will switch from a theology lesson to a work and business session with the lesson moved to the following week. The society requests contributions of flower pieces bulbs plants or shrubs for the transitional ward garden near the chapel to expand its size and beautify the area.
Cedar City Wednesday night the county Democratic Central Committee endorsed multiple applicants for federal state and local posts. Several names and positions are listed with others pending investigations or possible developments as the committee may reconvene soon.
The Literary club met Wednesday night at Mrs. Louise C. Adams home. The Jo nah lesson was led by Mrs. Verda Adams. Charity refreshments were served. Next week the club plans to meet at Mrs. Venice Decker's home.
The junior promenade at Parawa high school Friday night drew 216 tickets with couples and extra guests, filling the big gym for dancing. Delegations from Newcastle Mesa Cedar Faragonah and Salt Lake City guests joined locals in a refined, festive evening with floral decorations and noted school officials in attendance.
Paul M. Adams spoke on baptism at the East ward sacrament meeting as part of a gospel principles series in the L D S church. Previous speakers included John W. Bentley on faith and Wm Marsden on repentance, with talks to be repeated in the West ward and continued in coming Sundays.
The East Ward M. I. A. holds its regular monthly concert Sunday at eight. The program features ladies, male and mixed choirs, a piano duet, and a reading. Highlights include Ode to Youth and Come Where My Love Lies Dreaming.
