Regionaire Buried With Military Rites

Parowan mourns as prominent local figure Regionaire Ward is laid to rest with full military rites. A large turnout includes Legion Auxiliary, church leaders, and neighbors from Cedar City and nearby towns. The service featured prayers, songs, and a graveside dedication, with regional officials and family members in attendance. The funeral followed a period of community recognition and tributes from many organizations.

Plute County Citizens Visit Cheese Factory Feasibility

A delegation of Plute County residents from Circlewlix toured the Bouthern Dairy Company plant last Saturday to study cheese production and equipment for possible county relocation. On departure each visitor bought two brown cheese samples to bring home for family tasting.

Crippled Children Clinic Scheduled for Cedar City

The State Health District No 2 will hold a crippled children clinic March 31 at the Cedar City Second Ward Chapel. A team will examine each child to assess treatment and disposition, starting 9:00 am and running until finished, with up to 31 cases expected from Beaver to Washington counties. Attendance is at no charge. ages under eighteen with physical handicaps may qualify for orthopedic and plastic surgery care.

Milford Civic Clubs Set Saturday Meeting Actions on Road Program

Milford hosts the Asao cleiel Glyie Clubs of Sowthern of fan meeting to submit the road program to the executive board for approval. The plan targets widening and straightening highways including U.S. 91 89 30 and interstate connections, with beautification and city limits completion. The 1939 advertising program, board sessions, banquet and dance follow, under the oversight of Rose Hawkins Nephi and James M. Bargout with L A Wynaught coordinating.

Meeting of county agents and committee members held in Salt Lake City

At the Newhouse hotel in Salt Lake City on March 21 county agricultural agent Lamont Tueller J M Palmer and N B Bayles attended the state conference of county agents and county committee members. They reviewed the 1939 program and gave instructions to finish the 1938 program. N E B Dodd assistant administrator of the Western Reserve spoke on the AAA program.

Dairy Company To Aid Poultry Producers

Lh Fenton manager of the Southren Uinh Dairy Company plans to assist poultry producers in the valley. A representative will visit soon to explain a marketing plan for eggs and chicks. Local hens and feeds will be supplied, with eggs sold through a Utah association shipping to New York markets.

Windbreak Demonstration Planting Planned in Iron County

Mr. 3. Whitney Floyd, Extension Forester, planned a windbreak demonstration planting in Iron County on Wednesday March 22, 1930. Two farms near the county west end, Parley Moyle farm and Leme Austin farm, will host windbreak trials following last year’s plantings. Utah State Extension Service and Utah State Agricultural College School of Forestry support the effort with cooperative state funding. Distribution and planting sites will be announced April 1, with price lists and order forms available from the County Agent’s office. Parowan High School Sneak Day Ends With Dance and Prom Plans

Early Tuesday the Senior class organized a Sneak Day trip to low Nations Park and La Verkin. They swam, relaxed, and visited a Derby dance hall. A spring concert by the University Clay troupe entertained students. Juniors push hard for a grand Prom on April 21 with posters revealing the theme.

City Begins Ditch Cleaning Effort Amid WPA Labor Limits

The city launches cleaning of treigation ditches with limited WPA labor this spring. Mayor says work provides short term employment for local men previously idle, with April 1 target for ditch clearance and water reissue to residents. Mr Matheon leads the project as grading proceeds on WPA funded structures, requiring additional teams for graveling.

Parowan gun club hosts hunt and public dance Saturday

The Parowan Gun and Red Club plans a rabbit hunt Saturday afternoon in farms northwest of town to close Wid Life Week. Members and nonmembers are invited. shotgun shells will be available at Parowan Mercantile Co. The crowd will form sides at the hunting grounds with Tiger Benson and Elmer Mitchel as captains. Meet at the Ihan Service Station by 1 PM. The dance follows at the Brown Derby with Rhythm Kings providing music for the public.

Bennett Brothers Build New Store at Lakeview

The Bennett brothers plan a brick store at Lakeview Oregon to house Markevaria's market. The building will be 36 feet wide by 5 feet long, cost about $10,000, and should be ready by June. Construction starts immediately to serve expanding business.

Dr Macfarlane Dies After Month Illness

Dr Mensa John Macfarlane 57 Cedar City Utah prominent physicist and civic figure died this morning in Salt Lake City after a month of illness marked by declining health. He led civic groups and helped establish the county hospital while practicing medicine since 1913. Survived by his wife Kate Palmer and four sons Lioyt Wayland Allen Robert and Menzies plus siblings and many relatives. Funeral time and place to be announced.
