In Parowan a bond proposal presented to voters drew only one negative vote. Despite extensive efforts including church and school notices, handbills, and the High School band, turnout was minimal and taxpayers largely abstained. Countywide results awaited final tallies with Parowan showing bonds likely carried.
The Parowan Ward Relief Society invites the public to attend the 75th anniversary of the society on Tuesday March 19 1938 at 7 30 pm in the Opera House. A program will be rendered and a sale of hats rugs dresses shawls and more will be offered. Tickets cost ten cents with proceeds to benefit the society.
The Ted Crors ladies schedule two days of sewing Thursday and Friday this week to complete maternal wear. They aim to finish before speech season. All ladies should report to the workroom in the southwest part of the aid tahoe building. More sewing machines are needed. if the Jagr approves 130 machines, they may phone Mr. J. A. Halterman to arrange transport to the workroom.
A Red Crore party raised funds via a clerks of the Equitable event. Proceeds totaled $oy and were turned over to the Forewan Branch. Attendees enjoyed peach, ice cream, and refreshments. expenses were paid from the fund. Clerks deserve credit for the smooth execution of the gathering.
The Enoch ward held a farewell party for Armstrong last Saturday at Enoch Hall with Cedar and Foenda relatives present. Mrs Armstrong’s family planned a farm purchase and departure this week while ward officers praised ongoing work. A ward conference, hats for Easter, and a spring dine were noted as part of community activities. A baby boy was born to Lorenzo Matheson’s family last Saturday, and Armtong family members visited Idaho for a few days as the week begins.
