City approves surplus power deal and repairs plan
At the regular council meeting, Parowan City approved a contract to sell surplus hydro power to Southern Utah Power Company for the rest of 1939 under price terms matching the prior year. Gardner of the power company stated plans to take 1200.9 dollars worth of power and may buy more if needed. The agreement stems from the Parowan plant surplus and supports plant repairs and distribution work planned for the summer. The council also discussed street curb and gutter construction with county aid, a WPA supplemental project for ditch work and tree planting, and a county-wide advertising flyer to solicit information on regional projects. The mayor was named Parowan City representative on the Yankee Meadow Reservoir Committee, and bills were approved.
