Record High Utah Legislature Introduces Massive Bill Load

A new all time record for introduction of bills resolutions and memorials was set as the Utah legislature adjourned last week. With 6546 documents in play the session may reach 660 measures including new ones via suspension of rules.

Farmers urged to plant more field corn for silage

Dean E J Maynard of Utah State Agricultural College says Utah farmers should increase field corn for silage to conserve water. Literary Club Party at Decker Home Hosts Celebrate

Parewan Literary club members and partners enjoyed a Wednesday evening gathering at Mr. and Mrs. Ivan Decker’s home. Hostesses included Mrs. Venice Decker Mrs. Taco Benson Mrs. Hazel Pendleton and Mrs. Louise Adams. Games such as Five Hundred and Bridge were played with prizes won by A. C. Hatch and Georgia B. Mitchell for most frames.

Iron County Residents Attend 4-H Leadership Course

Parowan Team Splits Varsity Games In Weekend Swap

Parowan high school basketball lost to Valley Stigh at Orderville Friday night then defeated the Cowboys 62 to 26 at Kabab Saturday. The Or derville score is unknown. Final league frames flow tonight with Cedar City and tomorrow at Enterprise.

Woolgrowers Meeting Set for Cedar City Banquet and Dance

A meeting of the woolgrowers of Southern Utah, including Iron, Beaver, Garfield, Kane and Washington counties, will be in Cedar City on March 2. Voting District Elects Officers to Fill Vacancies

Democratic voters in District No. 3 elected Warren Pendleton as district chairman and Waldo Taylor as secretary at a meeting in John H. Pendleton's office. Pendleton won 12 votes to Taylor's 9, filling vacancies left by Joel H. Orton's removal and Mrs. A. C. Hatch's move to another district. PF Bruhn visited Panguitch for a brief business trip.

Death calls father of Mrs Milo Marsden

Charles H Rampton a prominent Davia county citizen and Bountiful resident died suddenly in San Francisco from a heart attack while visiting kin on the coast. The body was brought home for burial with funeral services held early in the week in Bountiful. Rampton leaves a widow and seven daughters including Elaine who has not lived in Parowan much of late.

The District Court heard three new filings this week. Federal Land Bank of Berkeley versus Jon E Haslam et al seeks foreclosure on mortgages totaling 8424.88 plus interest, back taxes, and 154 attorney fees. Bank of Southern Utah sues Heber Co Oborn of Ogden for 400 on a note with interest since January 16, 1930, plus costs and 75 attorney fees. Irene Barrick Murphey sues Patt Murphy for divorce with restoration of maiden name, 25 monthly alimony, costs and 375 attorney fees, alleging non support and accusations of misconduct and bigamy in Missouri.
