Hamilton Gets Contract For Seminary Building
Mr John Hamilton of Cedar City and Hamiltons Fort won the contract for the new seminary building here and began work this morning. A local crew clears ground and prepares to raze parts of the Voddius property for the structure. The south wing of the present building will be removed and a new south section built, with classrooms in the new area and the teachers family living in the rear portion to be remodeled. Construction aims to finish before the school year starts. The contract totals 18500 dollars after revisions, including site changes and plumbing, with heading facilities excluded. Materials, including timber, largely supplied by the church, account for forty percent of the cost, the other sixty percent covered by the church. Brick work progresses with moulding today and the kiln soon ready. Lumber from John Benson's mill in Goop Valley amounts to several thousand feet ready for delivery.

Former resident dies and is buried here in city cemetery
Short graveside services were held at the city cemetery for Mire Rephel E. Allen 7 years old a former resident who died last Wednesday in Payson Utah. The service directed by Bishop H Le Adams featured opening prayer by Simon A Matheson and remarks by David Marhenon with Wells Williams of Kanarra offering the closing prayer. A mixed quartet Huy Farnex Ivan Johnson Lola Dalian and Berta Burton sang three numbers. The grave was dedicated by S A Matheson. Relatives from Tapson and Manapra attended. the casket lay under floral tributes. Born in Raiar raan January 1967 to John and Mariah Navi she married Hyrum Beat Allen in Escalante March 26 1898 and lived here many years at the Peter Harr farm later moving to Payson. Funeral services were in Payson First Ward chapel then burial here. Surviving husband two daughters Mrs. Maggie Fisher of Coral Michigan and Miss Winifred Allen of Payson two brothers Dona Davis of Carbonville and Seary Davis of Sevier County a brother David Gayla of Kanarra five grandchildren. Mr and Mrs Lindsay Barton and their brother Wayne visiting from New York saw her mother Mrs Amelia B Lyman in Minersville. The latter is seriously ill at her Beaver county home.
