Death Comes Suddenly To Parowan Woman
Lenora Pendleton Stubbs 64 died suddenly at Iron County Hospital after a week of illness. Funeral services were held in Parowan with Bishop Scott Day presiding and a large local turnout. Born December 5 1879 she lived in Parowan all her life and is survived by eight children and many grandchildren.

Flying Cross Awarded To Lt Gurr in China Burma India Service
Lt Errold H Gurr of the Army Air Forces receives the Distinguished Flying Cross on May 25 1944 while recovering in Florida after malaria and jungle ailments in China India and Burma. A telegram reported that Horace Skougard’s wife Inez Myers Skougard and his daughter Rose Marie, married to a Filipino in Fresno, were murdered by the girl's husband who then killed himself. The killings occurred near Fresno at Los Deltas. bodies were in a morgue awaiting disposition instructions.
