Members of the Daughters of the Pioneers honored Mr. Benson near his 20th birthday with a life sketch. Miss Bess Ward’s missionary farewell attracted many friends before her California mission departure. Ardell Hyatt received a trophy from Long Beach Exchange Club and prepares to attend BYU. Beverly Orion cut her leg playing with a hatchet, needing stitches. Jetta Orton also injured a leg in a separate accident.

Boys Return From Junior Fat Stock Show
Seven members of the local Future Farmers of America chapter and Ray D. Garner returned from Salt Lake City where they exhibited and sold at the Latermourdsin Junior Fat Stock show. They reported high quality judging, with 346 cattle, 218 lambs, and 36 hogs sold. Calves from local entrants brought $502.08 total, averaging $83.23 per calf, with grades high choice to low good and no calves sifted. Individual entries from Boyd Morris, Kenneth Prothero, Bryce Orion, Ralph Baytes, Bernell Evans, Jess Lister, and Wm. Toptram showed weight, price per pound, and sale totals.
