Parowan Car Fourth In Auto Theft Series
Lewie Henson of Parowan had his car abducted in a chain of thefts that began in Las Vegas Nevada on Monday night. The spree moved to Misquite Nevada and St George before its fourth theft in Parowan, with a fifth vehicle reported stolen near Naphi on Tuesday. Law officers reported no thief captures by Thursday night and noted tampering with Leonard Orton’s car including wiring and a radio sabotage.

The Vitch Highway Patrol warns truck owners to comply with a new state law requiring mud guards on rear wheels. All trucks must have mud flaps unless wheels are covered by fenders. Since May 10, many owners have not complied and are receiving violation tickets.

Salt Lake Man Dead Four Hurt In Auto Crash
A Salt Lake City man, Herman Lassche Sr, died and four others were listed in critical condition after a two tenths mile crash near the Iron Beaver County line. Victims included Herman Lassche Jr 24, Mia Lasache Self Herbert Lagache 26 and Heverly Jane Lasache 14. A separate crash near Cedar City involved a large Cudahy Packing Co meat truck overturning four miles north of town, driver Edward G Burns and the relief driver uninjured. Damages to the truck were estimated between 2000 and 4000 dollars, cargo mostly saved.

Funeral services are planned Saturday afternoon in Paragonah for Emily Reronalds Daily 74 wife of Milton L Daily who died at her Paragonah home Wednesday. Born October 18 1884 in Pan eurtch Utah to Josiah and Elizabeth Ann Norton Reronalds she married Milton Daily in 1905 Salt Lake Temple. Surviving are husband sons and daughters including Lola Hollingshead Milford Lawrence Daily Paragonah Darwin Daily and Hazle Thompson St George plus 22 grandchildren. Interment will be at Paragonah Cemetery with services in the Paragonah Ward Chapel.

Graveside Rites Held For Korean War Victim Wilkerson
Brief graveside funeral services were held Thursday at West Jordan Cemetery for Desmond R. Wilkerson, son of Dr. and Mrs. Roy Wilkerson of Parowan, who was killed in Korea during a helicopter crash while evacuating wounded. His burial in Utah followed his death on November 8, 1950, with UN bodies recently released by the Communists for shipment home. His widow, now remarried, requested the U.S. burial at West Jordan.

Last Rites Held for Elderly Paragonah Man
Funeral services for Joseph Enoch Lister, 75, were held at the Paragonah LDS Ward Chapel. Surviving are his widow and five sons and daughters, nineteen grandchildren, four great grandchildren, and five sisters. Bruce Decker Leaves Parowan for Ontario California
Bruce Decker, Parowan High School coach, will leave in August to coach at Ontario Junior High in California. He will oversee the physical education program for seventh and eighth grades at Ontario with about 600 students and no competitive sports. Parowan district reports the vacancy remains unfilled. Decker led Parowan basketball teams to state tournaments and directed the summer recreation program.

Harmonica Band to Perform at Sevier DUP Convention
The Ladies Harmonica Band accepted an invitation to play at the Sevier County DUP convention to be held in June in Elsinore Utah. Clark Michell son of Karl and Mary Mitchell arrived home after discharge from the Army. He was discharged yesterday at Fort Ord after two years of service.
