Members of the Dairy Committee of the Chamber of Commerce report exceptionally good prospects for a cheese factory. Details are withheld pending developments, but they expect operation before August with sufficient milk supply and strong local enthusiasm potentially tripling production. Parowan High School seeks a director for the music department with a high salary offer to attract a top candidate. Superintendent Larion notes the field is thin as strong educators are already tied to larger cities. The English department also lacks a head after the death of Miss Gillies, hindering school operations.
Parowan Auto Company shifts leadership with George E. Chilton buying George Kil gore’s interest and taking over as President. J B Dalton and George A Lowe Jr. are involved in the purchase, with a reorganization naming Mrs. Chilton as Secretary and Treasurer. Ble Hilgore and family left for Salt Lake City to seek new employment after a month’s stay.
Dixie Power Co pays Parowan City $273.76 for 27 days in May, 2000 horsepower capacity contract, $250 monthly guarantee, $1.25 per horsepower for excess. Woodhouse notes June may reach about $254 as some motors were idle early. Supervisor says city could sell about 400 horsepower if creek flow remains steady and pipeline utilization grows.
Norris 15 of Lund Utah fined 250 dollars in Justice Leighs court for possession of intoxicating liquor after a sheriff county attorney raid. He served notice of appeal prompting refunding of the money and a second charge against him and Mrs Norris scheduled for hearing next week. Officers report additional quantities found at the premises and anticipate further cases.
The District Court term due to convene June 15 is postponed a week per Judge Burton. He is in the middle of a northern trial, making the delay necessary. Many civil and some criminal cases remain. it is unclear if juries will be ordered or if trials will proceed this term.
Marion Robb a Paragonah lad aged about 18 or 19 remains missing after a five day hunt in Buckskin valley East of Buckhorn. A lamb with its throat cut and a lamb blood sample analyzed as non human support theories of abduction or escape. Hundreds joined the search from Paragonah and neighboring towns with Governor Dern sending a bloodhound, but no trace found and the mystery continues unresolved.

Erle Bennettre and wife from Los Angeles plan to spend the summer here.
Cedar City Chamber of Commerce secretary W. W. Butler promotes a county band to receive the 324th Cavalry band with possible leadership by Sergeant George H. Winter. Utah-wide competition includes Cedar City Logan and others as Salt Lake officials decide allocation.
The Parowan Stake of Zion held a two day conference in Gwar City Tune 5 and 6. President Wm St Palmer and others spoke on faithfulness to gospel, temple marriages, and priesthood. The meeting noted good attendance, strong spirit, and a new stake superintendent and officers for the MBI. Ia with Gordon Smith as Superintendent and Cleo Dix as second assistant.
Returned students and townspeople will attend the West Ward Sacrament meeting this Sunday afternoon. The program includes talks by Alice Fae Decker Ella Robinson and Miss Mary Orton, solos by Miss Mary Orton, and readings by Maude M M Dalton and Beatrice Dalton with songs by Arvilla Day Laura Morris and Violet Stevens. The East Ward program is not available as we go to press. Arthur Brown denies producing White Mule and says his is Brown Mule. The council holds a Board of Equalization and Review Thursday through Saturday.
A marriage was solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple last Thursday between Ray Robinson of Paragonah and Milas Mary McConkey of Vernal Utah. The couple met when she visited Paragonah last September and their acquaintance grew into a union finalized by the ceremony and a warm congratulations from the Times.
Mr Gardello Orton and Milas Iria Decker married in Salt Lake City last week and returned to Parowan as husband and wife. Both are young community graduates of Parowan High School and FE A C schooling. Gar dollo is Silas T Orion's oldest son, and the bride is George W Decker's youngest daughter. The Times extends congratulations and best wishes.
Elmerth Mitchell and Sara Adams plan a Friday evening wedding after quietly obtaining a license in the Clerk's office. The groom is the son of Mr and Mrs Walter C Mitchell, and the bride is daughter of Mr and Mrs Charles D Adams. The Times extends congratulations.
