George D Morris Dies In Hospital Parowan
George D Morris 69 a Parowan resident died in Cedar City hospital after a brief illness caused by a blood clot on the lungs following an abdominal obstruction and gall bladder removal. Funeral at West ward chapel Sunday 2 pm. Survived by wife Francis Fowler and children Sarah Patterson Emma Topham Durham Morris Bessie Rolla Laura Smith Ray and Carl Morris, plus siblings and grandchildren. He held public roles including justice of the peace city attorney and civic officer in Parowan and was active in farming livestock and community affairs.

Funeral for Elder Peter Gurr Possible Next Sunday
Elder Peter Orment Gurr who died in Germany may have his funeral on Sunday afternoon July 28 according to his family. The body left Berlin July 10 and is expected to arrive soon with instruction that the service be held on the Sabbath despite uncertain timing. Elder Laney of St George travels with the body and awaits a wire confirming arrival.

Announcement from Alladin Theatre management states that within the week new bound screen larger speaker lamps and other equipment will be installed in readiness for the 24th.
