Collision injures Tremonton couples near Summit

Two couples from Tremonton on a vacation trip to California were in critical condition at Iron County Hospital after a car skidded on an icy road and collided with a Freightliner truck driven by Ray Meariner of Cedar City. Mr Stauffer and Mr Baum had minor injuries. Patrolman Adams investigated. Traffic halted for safety, 33 was drained from the truck.

Junior Readings Set By St Ward Mutual Church

A special junior program at St Ward Mutual features Hendrickson reading a play for all juniors Tuesday in February. The event aims to prepare the Ren 40 audience with an early presentation and discussion on alcoholism led by Farid Wen, with plans for the year’s 280 activities.

Gun and Red Club Special Meeting Next Thursday

Mrs. Glenna Lowe Thompson Buried in Milford

Funeral services for Mrs. Glenna Lowe Thompson were held at the Milford L D Church on January 26. Born April 16, 1909 in Parowan to George A. and Mary Ellen Lowe, she married W. Frank Thompson in 1928 and lived in Parowan Milford and brief stays in Los Angeles and Pioche. Survived by husband and four Milford children Calvin Carl Connie and Shanna, plus eight siblings. Burial in Milford City Cemetery with remarks by Bishop Fisher and Howard Joseph dedicating the grave.

Parowan High School News Highlights Local Games and Plans

Cedar narrowly defeated Parowan by one point while Hurricane lost to Parowan by one. Rammette Pep Club provided floor shows at both games. The school play Almost Eighteen directed by Mrs. Gene Hendrickson advances to February 20 and 21 with character lists to be announced next week. Sweetheart Ball plans for February 14 include a fashion show during the assembly featuring both boys and girls.

Ralph Marsden To Give Private Music Lessons

Ralph Marsden will begin private lessons in String Instruments and Trombone for students, starting Saturday Feb. 1. He attends college at the BAC in Cedar City, serving as concert Master of the Ist Violins in the BAC Symphony Orchestra and Ist trombone in the BAC Band, with strong music practice and theory shown. He has recommendations from Professors William H. Manning and Roy L. Halverson.

This week Mr and Mrs John S Dalton welcomed a baby girl born last week. Mr and Mrs Otto Reeves announced the birth of a baby boy on Friday. Mr and Mrs W Merryweather celebrated a new addition last week at the hospital. A new bakery is to open soon in the city, led by Emil A F Malmberg who is bringing equipment and setting up a home base with his wife. Malmberg has baked since age eleven and knows the craft from A to Z.
