Aged Resident Lam Bead Passes After Long Life of Service

An aged Parowan resident, Lam W Vevneadar, died after a long life of community service. Funeral services were held Friday in the 102 Chapel with many friends and family in attendance. He helped pioneer artesian water development in Parowan and neighboring towns and was a respected figure in Wren County’s early growth. Born February 13 1931 in West Virginia, he moved with his parents to Miata as a youth and later settled in Parowan. He leaves a wife, four sons, and three daughters among his surviving relatives.

Cedar Notes dated January 14 report Geo Hunter traveling to California for vacation while Jo Kopp and family visit there for two weeks. Bigelow of St George spent Friday and Saturday in Cedar on business. The eighth and seventh grades held a levy event in the Library Auditorium. Mira Herbert Haight welcomed a baby boy. Mira Jeane Hunter returned from Salt Lake City after a month visiting. A wedding reception was held for Mr and Mrs Gordon Hunter. Mr and Mrs Bert Froud hosted a house party with games and refreshments. H G L Foz visited Cedar and traveled to Parowan and Far to supervise echo building work. Last Tuesday Mr and Mrs Julius Rosenberg hosted an informal gathering at a Hit and Miss party with a large crowd and many friends attending. Refreshments were served.
