New City Officials Take Office In Iron County Seat
Mayor Thomas D. Adams and four council members along with Recorder Jos. F Ward and Treasurer Anna Rasmussen were sworn in at noon to begin two-year terms. The retiring leaders left unfinished projects including a new light plant, street improvements, and the Public Safety Building, with finances strained but a path set for self supporting power via sale to Dixie Tower Company.

Tickets on sale for next week's pageant and dances
Financing the celebration is a challenge as season tickets go on sale to cover the Pageant and two Dances. A $1.50 ticket admits two, and a $1.00 ticket admits one to all events. Everyone must buy tickets.
Bank of Iron County declares twelve percent dividend
At the annual stockholders meeting held last Saturday evening the Bank of Iron County declared a twelve percent dividend on all capital stock. Yearly earnings were just under seventeen percent, with excess beyond twelve percent placed in reserve. The same Board of Directors was reelected: J. N. Marsden, Wm Adams, James Robinson Jr., Jos B. Dalton, II D. Bayles, Thos D. Adams and John R. Robinson.

Two Salt Lake City youths face the State Industrial School. Leroy Rose, 15, with prior offenses, receives a firm sentence until twenty one or release. Howard Jensen, 13, first offender, has his term suspended on good behavior and is placed under his brother William Jensen’s supervision. Deputy Sheriff Charles Bentley and James S. Local man undergoes back tumor operation at county hospital
Clarence Smith was operated on at the County hospital last Monday for tumor removal from his back. Latest word says he is recovering well after anesthesia, his wife staying with him at the hospital.
