We learned that a two week series of teacher welfare classes starts Sunday evening February 28 at Felock Seminary. The sessions, free with mimeographed materials, aim to help attendees improve their teaching. Halterman announces marriage of daughter Aleen Bettridge
Mr and Mrs Clifton Halterman announce the marriage of their daughter Aleen to Sergeant Keith Nt Bettridge of this place. The ceremony occurred at 8 p m Friday February 16 performed by Bishop Scott Day in the Parowan West ward. The bride, a Pars jewan High School graduate, has worked at Iron County hospital since May. The groom is a son of Mr and Mrs George Be ltridge and was a local high school student. He joined the armed service October 1, 1943, saw eighteen months overseas and fought in Jap held landings. He injured his back late in 1984 and was sent home to Bushnell for operation. He reports back after March for examination. They are living at Jas frer Cartwrights.

Parowan Stake confirms Cedar City headquarters and a stake administration building to be built north of the First ward chapel using similar materials. No construction yet. a fundraising drive will secure funds to complete the project with church funds. Plans include offices for the Stake Presidency and High Council, plus rooms for Auxiliary organizations. A large stake day is set for Friday March 9 in Cedar City with banquet, auction, and dance. Priesthood quorums assigned tasks for the banquet and sale. Parowan Seminary hosts a meeting to explain duties.

Funeral services were held in Cedar City for Lafayette Roba McConnell 27 who died Saturday from a heart attack after several weeks illness. Born May 13 1917 at LaVerkin Utah he moved to Cedar City at age four and attended local schools graduating from the B A C He studied at the Tlingis College of Chiropody and Foot Surgery for a year He was married to Lois Munford in September 1941 and was a member of the Cedar Elks lodge and junior chamber of commerce Survived by his mother widow two children Linda and Richard two sisters Mrs Sydney Joseph and Lara McConnell and an aunt Gladys McConnell all of Cedar City.

The Perowan Gun and Rod club held a well attended banquet and dance at Westward banquet hall. A chicken dinner was served by the Perowan Service Men's Wives club. State Game department Utah Wildlife Federation and Dixie Forest sent speakers Clifford Huss Lee Kay and Heywood. Local folks spoke and musical numbers included a trombone solo by Newell Weight and piano duets by Tina Mortensen Alice Haycock.
