Iron County School District proposes new Parowan High building
The Iron County School District plans a five year program including a new Parowan High School with a gym and seven rooms plus future expansion. Board members and Superintendent Barlow visited northern districts for ideas and costs from Cannon and Fetzer. Plans also include a Newcastle school, Cedar City Junior High addition, and a Cedar City grade school. A March 3 meeting was set to approve plans and election timing.

The project, part of a grounds beautification effort sponsored by the Chamber of Commerce and Parent-Teacher groups, includes planting and a memorial. Death of Beloved Citizen Ends Useful Career
Morgan Richards, longtime Parowan resident and active church and civic worker, died at 1:30 AM at age 82. Beloved by many, he lived a life of service though often away since 1921. Funeral was held in Salt Lake City, body returned for burial Friday.

A local American Legion event held at the schoolhouse auditorium invited all men over fifty for a two to four pm program titled purgatory.
