Ski Run To Be Formerly Opened Sunday

Thorntons Celebrate Sixty Second Anniversary in St George
Wm U Thornton and his wife, longtime Parowan residents, were honored in St George on November 25 by family and guests at the St George DUP building. A turkey dinner, decorated tables, and a large birthday cake marked the occasion as many relatives gathered, including six of their 14 children and numerous grandchildren. The couple’s actual wedding date was November 17, with the celebration postponed to a later date.

Crafts Instructions Offered Adults At School In Iron County A class in arts and crafts using plastics leather and metal begins weekly on Wednesday nights at 7 p.m. in the shop room. Dwain Van Ausden, Iron County High School instructor, leads with support from the School Board. High Scholastic Honors For U.S.A.C. Forestry Student
Adrian F.E. Dalton, son of Mr. and Mrs. Rulan R. Dalton, earned the highest scholastic record among U.S.A.C. forestry seniors for the 1948 1949 school years. His name will be engraved on a gold honor plaque in the forestry building. Dalton joined Xi Sigma Pi in January 1949, and the fraternity now has 22 members. He is a Parowan High School graduate who served in the Army, including fourteen months in Europe with Mechanized Cavalry.

The first degree murder trial of Verne Braasch and Melvin Sullivan moved from Beaver to Parowan after a two day jury pool, a 12 member panel with one alternate chosen.
