The Parowsa community mourns Rowena Benson a bright intelligent song girl stricken by a severe throat illness and pneumonia. She had been ill weeks ago with what appeared to be Albivenga and later contracted pneumonia during the ongoing influenza epidemic. Her loss is deeply felt by parents and friends.
The Parowan City Health Board urges cautious use of masks during influenza times noting masks may be ineffective if air is not properly sealed or kept damp with antiseptic solutions. They recommend antiseptic washes for nose and mouth, keeping masks damp with a germicidal solution, and using simple preventives to reduce exposure.

Leora Clark received a telegram from her son Amaes Clark in Montana informing her of the death of Leonidas Clarke who died Monday from influenza, according to the message.

John Adama arrived home Thursday from Fort McArthour Texas where Red Cross officials and Home Service Committee joined friends to honor him. L Clark delivered a welcome speech, and Adams was escorted through town before being taken home, expressing pleasure at his return.
Obo Bentley a highly respected Parowan carpenter died Friday from pneumonia following influenza. Retiring but beloved, he helped build schools and churches, honored by all who knew him. Parowan has lost a loyal citizen as the influenza epidemic claims its eighth victim. Extra advertising was added to cover influenza material, with many items omitted for now and to appear next week.
