District Court Opens Fall Term with Guilty Pleas and Leniency

District Court in session with Judge N J Bates presiding. Gurr and Rowley pleaded guilty to stealing a steer from Jack Cox of Beaver and received a suspended sentence for one year. their bonds were released provided they stay law abiding. Other cases were dismissed or continued as needed while Judge Knox requested leniency and the district attorney backed the appeal.

Prize Rambouillet Lamb Sells to Burton Livestock Co

The Day Farms Co. sold the prize winning lamb from the 1926 Rambouillet show to Burton Livestock Co. for 360 dollars. Burton planned to add the animal as a flock header, noting a Northern-breeder purchase would have cost at least 560 dollars plus travel time and expense.

The couple Albert Stevens and Dora Holt obtained a marriage license through the city clerk and were wed recently. Stevens is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Edmund Stevens, while the bride is the youngest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. H. D. Holt of Enterprise. Stake Quarterly Conference to be Held in Cedar City

The Parowan Stake of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints will hold its Quarterly Conference at the Cedar City Tabernacle on December 4 and 5 1926 with sessions at 10:00 AM and 2:00 PM. Stake officers are urged to attend the first session and Saints and friends are invited to all sessions. A special Stake Presidency meeting will convene at 4:15 PM Saturday at the Seminary for important conference business. Some presiding authorities from Salt Lake City are expected to attend the conference.

Cedar City Farmers Import 25 Holstein Jersey Dairy Animals

Cedar City farmers imported 25 dairy cattle including Holstein Freesian and Jersey breeds from Cache Valley herds. The purchase, led by Arthur J. Borris and a committee, includes cows, heifers, calves and a full blooded sire from the Nelson herd. All animals tested for production or from dams producing over 300 pounds butterfat annually.
