County Approves Soldier Memorials and Local Aid

The Iron County Commissioners meeting approved a 500 appropriation toward two ex service men memorials with funds split by north and south districts. They also allocated 100 for Rambouillet Show costs in Parowan and arranged a 310000 tax anticipation loan across funds, plus a 9 monthly grant to Mrs Robb from the Dependent Mothers fund and requested updated affidavits for recipients.

Cougar killed after depredations in canyon herd scare

A large cougar believed linked to prior sheep losses was killed five miles from town after being sighted crossing a canyon road. Jesse FL Lowder shot the animal after it cornered in an aspen, ending a string of predations that local sheepman Jesse Guymon estimates at about one hundred lambs this spring.

September Conference Moved to Cedar City
