Parowan City council set a 21 mill tax levy for 1952 at a recent special meeting. The levy funds include general 4 mills, streets and sidewalks 2 mills, library 3 mills, park 1 mill, public safety 4 mills, and debt retirement 7 mills. Three Iron County men Kay Lamoreaux Brent Davis and Bud Smith were injured Friday evening when their car swerved to avoid a cow on highway 89 near Panguitch. Lamoreaux sustained severe arm injuries requiring about 150 stitches. Davis and Smith were released Sunday.

Lightning Fire Destroys Walter Stubbs Home in Town
A Thursday afternoon blaze gutted the interior of the Walter Stubbs residence causing an estimated $3,000 in damage. Fire Chief M. Clark said water and smoke ruined most rooms before the two alarms brought by neighbors from the quick response of the department saved the structure.
