Utah National Guard to Launch Operation Friendship Drive

The Utah National Guard will begin Operation Friendship on August 15 with a statewide winter clothing collection for Navajo and Hopi communities in the Four Corners area. Armories statewide serve as collection centers through August 22, with a two-phase plan including a fall caravan to deliver clothing to trading posts and villages as winter nears. Maj. Gen. Maxwell E. Rich leads the effort with Maj. Joseph E. Jones coordinating. local schedules will be released by Lt. Col. Max S. Dalley.

Jesse Mickelson Wins July Big Fish Prize

Harmonica Band Performs in Santaquin Centennial Celebration

Grant Seaman Promoted in Dixie Forest Transfer

H Grant Seaman will be promoted to Forest Ranger and reassigned from Cedar City to Pine Valley Ranger Districts in the Dixie National Forest with headquarters at St George Utah. The promotion, effective August 12 1956, follows his service since 1940 and a Civil Service appointment in 1955.
