County Board Holds Regular April Meeting
The County Board of Commissioners met with the clerk, attorney, sheriff, treasurer and road supervisor present. Funeral Services Held For Mrs Silas Topham
Funeral services were conducted Wednesday afternoon for Mrs. Reya Dalton Topham 34 wife of Silas M. Topham at the Past Ward chapel. Bishop T Wendell Bayles led services as choirs, with numerous local and surrounding community members attending. She died Monday at the county hospital from pneumonia after childbirth the previous week. Survived by husband three children her parents four brothers and three sisters. Funeral customs included musical tributes from local choirs and a graveside blessing by H L Adams.

Welfare offices moved to Cedar City next week
County Department of Public Welfare offices, housed at the courthouse for a year, will relocate to Cedar City next week under orders from the State Welfare Board to cut travel mileage. The Petersen Drug Store building second floor will host the new offices, with Wood Urie in charge and Georgia Jensen remaining as a case worker for stenography. Dalley will continue as case worker for Parowan and Kanarra, with office work shifting to Cedar City.

Former Parowan Man John Eyre Dies at 81 in Minersville
John E. Eyre, 81, a former Parowan resident and long time church worker, died at his Minersville home after a long illness. Funeral services are set for Saturday at Milnersville with burial and graveside rites at the local cemetery at 3 p.m. He was born November 17, 1856, lived most of his life in Parowan before moving to Minersville with his wife Jane Ann Eyre preceding him in death. Survived by children Edward Eyre of Cowley Wyoming Laura Corbridge Jennie Carter and Burdette Eyre of Minersville, plus many grandchildren and great grandchildren, a sister Sarah Ann Stevens of Parowan and a brother Pratt Eyre of Salt Lake. Details of church service work not available.

Miss Marie Stevens longtime Iron County hospital superintendent quits tonight and will wed Mr Grant Smith of Beaver next Tuesday. The couple plans to reside in Beaver after a ceremony at the Estanti temple. Miss Stevens, daughter of Mr and Mrs Joseph Stevens, previously served as a nurse at the hospital. Miss Kildred Allred, former nurse, will succeed Stevens as superintendent.

Easter Music Broadcast From BYU On National Network
Brigham Young University plans a 30 minute Easter program broadcast nationwide on the Columbia network. Several hundred BYU students will perform sacred selections from Salt Lake City to about 80 stations starting at 8 a m. Professor LeRoy J Robertson's Symphony Orchestra and John R Halltay's chorus will join in a fervent performance following prior warm reception from a December national broadcast.
