Colombo Plan Aids Southeast Asians
A six year Colombo Plan aims to raise living standards for about 570 million people in South and Southeast Asia. The $5.28 billion program, approved by an international committee in Colombo, Sydney, and London in 1950, funds projects from a large dam to universal free schooling for children in eight nations. Burma, Thailand, Indonesia and Indochina are invited to participate.
