Runaway Accident In Bloomington Injures Four

Ed Painter his wife and two young children were thrown from a buggy when a team of colts bolted after frightened by children. The buggy broke apart, the 8 year old girl was cut across the face, the baby suffered internal injuries, and Mr Painter and the 8 year old were hurt. All are under medical care and gradually improving.

City Asked to Purchase Instruments for Band

A Paris brass band delegation met the City Council to seek an appropriation for purchasing instruments. They urged city cooperation for continued operation, noting large instruments were borrowed from Fielding Academy and returned. Council adjourned to meet again September 27 after granting building permits to Standley Rich and Fred Stucki.

Food prices drop in August according to bureau report

Washington reports wholesale food prices fell over 12 percent in August with farm products down six percent clothing and related goods down five percent and drugs and miscellaneous items down four percent. Fuel lighting materials rose and metals housing and fishing goods increased. The year over year comparison shows higher prices.
