Idaho State Employment Service offices plan to help employers fill vacancies created by men entering active military service. Homer L Hooban says the service will refer disabled veterans other veterans handicapped workers and older workers to vacancies to stabilize the workforce. Montpelier Fire Destroys Several Downtown Businesses
A morning blaze in Montpelier damaged the Shoes Shop and Cabinet Shop near the unemployment office and Schmid Brothers Cleaners. Fire spread to the Thorpe building and cleaner boiler room but with no wind the department confined the fire. The Slide Shop and Cabinet Shop suffered near total loss with water and smoke damage to items in the Fair Store.

Death of William Gi Poulsen in Paris Utah
William Gi Poulsen died at his Paris Utah home after a long life as a farmer and church worker. He was born in Parle on April 22 and moved with the Poulsen family to Liberty before settling in Paris. Eight of ten children survive and eight siblings are named. Funeral services were held in the Paris 1st ward chapel with many speakers and musical tributes. Matthews Mortuary handled arrangements.
