Impressive services were held at the St Charles ward chapel for George Floyd a respected community farmer. Interment followed at St Charles cemetery with Bishop John A Hunt presiding and multiple speakers offering condolences and reflections on his life and faith.
Governor C C Moore will speak at the Bear Lake County courthouse in Paria Saturday at 10 a m. He invites nearby residents planning priesthood meetings to come early, with a special invitation to ladies. He will also address a Montpelier audience Friday evening at the Gem Theatre.
One of the longest trains in years departed Paris Wednesday afternoon for the Omaha market. Fourteen carloads of beef cattle led the train, with two carloads of sugar beets to Utah Idaho Sugar Co at Idaho Falls and a carload of merchandise plus passenger coach and baggage car. Cattle owners include Alma Findlay, Ed Holmgren, Nels Bunderson, Alma Larsen, Boone Bunderson, and Lorenzo Hemmerrett, all of St Charles or Bloomington, who accompanied their stock to destination. Ralph Findlay listed in place of his father.

Ray Wilcox fourteen, son of Mr and Mrs George E Wilcox, Salt Lake City residents, was killed Monday afternoon when struck by a car driven by H F Ficks near Fifth East street. Funeral services are set for Sunday at the family home with interment in Salt Lake Cemetery. The inquest heard the boy ran from an alley diagonally across Fifth East as the driver swerved to avoid him. He died en route or shortly after at the emergency hospital from skull fracture and loss of part of the left ear. The Wilcox family recently moved from Paris Idaho and Ray leaves three siblings. The body is at Larkin mortuary.
The beet harvest is well underway as farmers haul beets to railroad stations for shipment to the Idaho Falls factory. Several carloads have already left Paris and favorable weather prompts rapid completion, with crops turning out well.
