Pocatello Idaho October 13 An international congress to discuss the silver problem and an appropriation to enlarge and straighten the Blackfoot river channel were predicted today by Representative Addison T Smith of Idaho He stopped here briefly en route to Washington and said he was confident of an immediate appropriation to straighten the river from the dam to diversion points to prevent future overflows He also expressed hope that President Hoover would call an international conference before the next session of Congress.

Funeral Rites Held for Fish Haven Woman
Louisa Winterbottom aged 63 wife of Samuel Winterbottom died after a week illness. Bishop C C Shirley led services at Fish Haven ward chapel with prayers by M H Pugmire. Speakers praised her as a loving mother and Saints member. Survived by husband two sons Virgil and Norman Winterbottom, two daughters Mrs Chauncey Wilkes and Mrs O W Wells, and seven grandchildren.
