Governor Baldridge announces Bert A. Reed as judge of the eighth district succeeding the late Charles L. Heitman. Reed, longtime Idaho government figure, will reside and set up chambers at Sandpoint. District includes Boundary Kootenai Benewah counties.
J C Famechon Co of Minneapolis informs Idaho growers via the state department of agriculture that better prices should emerge starting in March. The firm, described as a large and reliable dealer in Idaho potatoes, predicts Maine will see storage shrinkage during winter.
Boise Idaho reports twenty eight arrests for state fish and game law violations during September. Twenty four convictions were obtained with fines totaling 820 dollars. Principal offenses were hunting and fishing without licenses unlawful possession of fish and violations of closed seasons.
Boise physician Dr. F W Almond has been retained temporarily as the state medical adviser by the State Department of public welfare until a permanent appointee is found. Almond was the first medical adviser under former Governor Davis and served through Governor Moore's term before resigning for private practice. Dr R M Fouch then held the post and recently resigned to open a hospital.
Mrs. J Henry Stocker age 67 died Monday at her Paris residence after a decade of illness. Funeral services Wednesday in Paris First Ward with Bishop Dana C Rich presiding and tributes from several church leaders. Interment in city cemetery beside her husband. eight children born, four living Emiel Grandy Ernest Guebler John and William Stocker.
Mr and Mrs George P Stock announce the marriage of their daughter Lois to Vyvian Michaelson of Montpelier in the Salt Lake temple on October 12. Both are graduates of Fielding High School and former St Charles residents. They will reside in Montpelier where Vyvian works at Geo P Stock Auto Sales.
Princess Victoria zu Schaumberg Lipse, ex Kaiser's sister, 61, announces engagement to Dvorjanin Alexander Subkoff, a 34 year younger Russian student at Bonn University. Born April 12, 1866 at Potsdam, she wed Prince Adolph zu Schaumberg Lipse in Berlin at 24. he died in July 1916, and they had no children.
Vernal Utah October 10 Sheep men and sniders of Diamond A Mountain northeast of here have pronounced a death sentence upon a bear that killed one lamb at E W Collier’s ranch. The bear visited the Collier corral on Pot Creek and killed three lambs outright while the others huddled in a corner and suffocated.
Porry Austin, a mathematics and mechanics instructor at Fielding High School, was injured last Saturday on his farm. While harnessing his horses to a hay rack, a Hereford bull rammed the horse, throwing him. An x ray showed no broken bones but a badly wrenched knee and sprained ankle.
