Mr and Mrs John H Jensen received a telegram from Washington DC last Friday stating their son Vernon Jensen was wounded in action in Holland on September 16 He wrote Sept 23 from base hospital in England saying wounds were in his left arm and he would provide more details after fourteen days Vernon is one of three Jensen brothers in the U S service with one killed in New Guinea and another overseas at press time He had been driving a truck since going overseas in May 1944 after April 1943 training in the United States

Fielding High School Band Debuts at Friday Football Game
Fielding High School unveiled its first public appearance with a new uniformed band at the Fielding Montpelier football game. Led by Music Director Mr Barrus, the band includes Bruce Stucki as president Jane Stucki as vice president Leah Dunford as secretary Velinda Orr as drum major and Twirlers Verne Odell June Humpherys Venna Heap. The 25 member ensemble plans travel to a January Music Clinic in Soda Springs and a regional festival in Idaho Falls in late April.

Duck Season Opens Here This Saturday
Duck hunters in this section will take to lakes and fields Saturday as the season opens on ducks and geese. Geese and ducks appear scarcer this year due to farmers holding fowl with permits and, as usual, poachers. Shooting hours run from half an hour before sunrise until sunset.
