Henry C Minor was found dead in his St Charles home by his son and wife after returning from the post office. He lived previously in Pocatello and was survived by daughter Peggy, sons Robert and Claya, and grandchildren. Funeral services were held at St Charles Chapel with burial in St Charles cemetery.

Senator Frank Church and Representative Ralph Harding said Thiokol Chemical's Wasatch Division completed a utilization plan for the Naval Ordnance Plant at Pocatello. If a sale occurs, the idle federal facility could employ about 1,400 people by year's end next year, as the plant may be used in defense and space projects in Utah.

Marine recruiters set to visit Paris for enlistment talks
Gunnery Sergeant Edward J. Barry and Staff Sergeant Harvey B. Sanders of the Marine Corps will interview local men and women at the Paris Post Office on Wednesday October 18 from 12 to 3 PM. Age requirements are 17-28 for men and 18-32 for women. Enlistment options include 3 or 4 year terms with a 120 day delay in active duty and potential aviation training with guaranteed schooling and assignment to a Marine Aviation organization.

Brigham Irwin Survives House Fire With Broken Back
In the early hours of Saturday September 30 a fire destroyed the Brigham Irwin home on the highway south of St Charles. Irwin jumped from an upstairs window breaking his back but alerted others. he was saved by mouth to mouth resuscitation and moved to Montpelier then transferred to Salt Lake City Veterans Hospital. A benefit dance in the St Charles Amusement Hall Friday at 9:00 pm sponsored by the Ward and Elders Quorum aids Irwin’s losses.

Rangers Annual Banquet Held at Cedar View Club
The Bear Lake Rangers held their annual banquet on Sept 28 at Cedar View Supper Club in Soda Springs. Director Capt Fenton Allred and Lt Pete Jensen oversaw proceedings with J Vivian Nye as master of ceremonies. Fifty three members and wives attended, plus invited guests, for a wonderful evening.

Farewell services for Larry Piggott announced
Larry Thomas Piggott son of Mr and Mrs Thomas Piggott will be honored at a testimonial Sunday evening October 8 at 8 00 oclock in the Bloomington Ward Chapel prior to his departure for the Gulf States Mission. Larry graduated from Fielding High School in 1960. He then enrolled at the U S A at Logan. For the summer months he has worked for the State Highway Department in Pocatello.

Graveside services were held at the Bloomington cemetery on Wednesday September 27 for the infant son of Mr and Mrs Walter Thornock of Pegram. The baby was born en route to the hospital from Cokeville Wyoming Sunday night September 24. The Thornocks have six living children with one infant who preceded this baby in death.
