Ernest Rich Allred age 58 of St. Charles died Sunday November 24 at 5 45 am in Caribou County Hospital Soda Springs after a lingering illness He born May 22 1905 at St Charles to Ernest Wilkes and Orissa Rich Allred married Vivian Mabel Wilks In Salt Lake City Temple He retired September 1 1963 from Utah Power and Light Co Funeral services were held Tuesday at 1 pm at the St Charles Ward Chapel Interment at St Charles City Cemetery Surviving widow sons Jay C and Jack R three grandchildren brothers and sisters including Connie Webb Clifford Allred Erma Pugmire and Evan Allred plus other relatives

Spartans Begin Basketball Practice Squad Selections

The Spartan squad numbers twenty one with five returning lettermen including Jim Parker Terrell Hymas Wayne Humpherys David Howell and Craig Palmer. Varsity has ten players five seniors five juniors while the Junior Varsity lists eleven with four juniors six sophomores and one freshman. Coach Jon Hyde notes two holdovers from last year and emphasizes conditioning fundamentals and offense while defense remains a question early in the season.

The Bear Lake Stake of the LDS Church will hold its quarterly conference in Paris on Saturday and Sunday November 30 and December 1. Heber Myers of Laketown Dies at 76

Heber Myers 76 of Laketown died Sunday at 3 30 am at his home after a long illness. Born March 16 1887 at Ovid son of John and Emily Vollenweider Myers. Survived by widow four sons Lynn W Russell W Harold W Kenneth W and daughter Laura Myers plus 14 grandchildren. Funeral Wednesday at Laketown Ward Chapel with interment in Laketown City Cemetery.
