Thanksgiving message of unity and prosperity

A civic appeal thanks patrons for supporting local business, notes past unity in commerce and government, and calls for a united Thanksgiving Day to celebrate peace and prosperity for the community and country.

Water to City Cut Off as New Intake Tries to Open

Water supply for the town was shut Monday to redirect flow to a new intake. Churches had issued notices and homes faced hot water risks while furnaces and schools were closed. Past outbursts froze and flooded the previous channel, threatening thousands of dollars in property as crews attempted repairs and rework of the intake system.

County approves Utah Chemical spur through Georgetown village

Salt Lake representative Robert J. Shilds presented plans for a Utah Chemical & Manufacturing Co. railroad spur eight and a half miles long from Georgetown to its mine. The franchise was granted the company to construct a standard gauge road with an estimated cost over fifty thousand dollars per mile.

Western Pacific Buys Rio Grande Foreclosure Assets

Representatives of the Western Pacific railway purchased the Denver and Rio Grande properties at foreclosure for 5,000,020 dollars in cash. They also agreed to assume Rio Grande obligations totaling 141,175,000 dollars. Buyers included John F. Bowie, John B. Marsh, and Ralph M. Arkush of New York.

Stake Conference Set for Paris Tabernacle November 27 28

Quarterly stake conference will convene at the Paris tabernacle on Saturday and Sunday November 27 and 28. A good attendance is urged by Stake Presidency members WM L Rich Ola Transtrum Roy A Welker.
