Champions-Trophy Hampshire Hogs Win National Barrow Show Title
At the 1951 National Barrow Show in Austin Minnesota Earlham Farms Richmond Indiana Hampshire barrows won the grand champion barrow and the highest value carcass awards among all breeds. The seven barrows were nearly identical on the hoof and topped weight classes with three heavyweights winning champion Hampshire and overall champion. The trio of lightweights earned reserve Hampshire pen honors, proving the practical hog can also be the most valuable in the display case.
