Anglers in Idaho Await Fishing Opener on June 1

Idaho anglers prepare for the Maho fishing season opening on Saturday June 1. Bear Lake Valley fishermen polish poles and reels and select spots as conditions vary with weather. State officials expect about 250000 fishermen catching an average 50 fish each, with hatcheries stocked for demand. Eastern Idaho reservoirs should offer good to excellent fishing. Palisades and Blackfoot reservoirs attract many openers, while Chesterfield may not fill but should fish well early in the month.
