Bear Lake county 4 H club committeemen and leaders attended a leader training session in Montpelier on May 11 with specialists including A E Duke Mil dred Haberly Aliie Rigby and Thelma Lee. A noon lunch was provided by local sponsors Burgoyne Hotel Rotary First Security Bank and Bear Lake Valley Dairymen Co op Creamery. County agent Vance T Smith called it the kick off for the 1944 4 H summer program and urged community organization ahead of fall judging and a 4 H F F A fair.

The F F A awards were presented at the high school assembly by Mr. A W Shepherd. The highest graduating senior received five dollars, Dale Austin. a 250 dollar prize went to the top TeSuna Pasian, plus a one dollar award to the top junior or sophomore, Golden Linford. The awards were based on Project 40 percent, F F A and leadership activities 30 percent, and scholarship 30 percent.
