Village Blacksmith William Painter dies in Bloomington
William Painter of Bloomington known as the Village Blacksmith died at home Monday afternoon from apoplexy after a short illness. Funeral services were held Wednesday in the ward chapel with remarks from H. H. Broomhead Roy A. Welker M D Low and Mayor J L Dunford. Interment followed in the village cemetery. Survived by a widow and six children two granddaughters acted as flower girls. He was born in England and lived in the county over 60 years operating a blacksmith shop under a box elder tree. He earlier served as a traveling Elder in England for the Mormon church.
