Rangers of the Teton forest with the Biological Survey and Wyoming state completed an elk count for Supervisor McCain in February. Despite 26 to 48 inches of snow at Ranger stations and deep snow on roads, they estimate 80 percent visibility yielding a total elk population around 21,000 in the Gros Ventre area.

Funeral services were held in the sixth ward chapel for Basset Kerr thirteen son of Mr and Mrs Les ter Kearl after a Friday death from spinal meningitis. Franklin Richards led Logan High in the Cade division at the State basketball tournament. Pearl Spencer hosted the South Cade debating squad at a Capitol theatre party with a late supper. Hyrum Nebeker visited Bear Lake en route from Salt Lake where he was recovering from an operation. Wayne Athay returned home to Smithfield after five weeks at Budge Hospital. President J Golden Kimball spoke at the Cache Stake conference reminiscing about Bear Lake winters. Bear Lake winds and March blasts were described as especially cold in Logan.

Fire destroys Swan Creek home and contents
A Saturday night blaze completely destroyed the home and belongings of L. L. Cook at Swan Creek. Neighbors could not reach the dwelling in time as Cook was absent, while Mrs. Cook and three children were inside. The spring district court adjourned after a day with Judge O R Baum and G Vaughan of Pocatello present. A jury panel of twenty led to a Lovell vs Toolson verdict awarding 933.28 to the plaintiff. Perkins pleaded guilty to assault with intent to rape and received 2 to 14 years. Palmer pled guilty to liquor possession and drew three months plus a 100 dollar fine, sentence suspended for medical attention. Budge divorce decree granted to Follick guardian for Hopkins.
