Fielding High School Operetta In Old Louisiana a Big Success

The Fielding High School music department presented In Old Louisiana at the local opera house to a crowded audience. Vyvian Michaelson Pearl Price Milford Passey and Mignon Michaelson led a cast with rich supporting roles while Jane Anderson directed. The show featured strong costumes stage settings and an adept orchestra, praised as one of the most pleasing musicals in Paris.

Funeral services today for H Seth Sleight

Henry Seth Sleight 36 died last Saturday in a Salt Lake hotel. American Legion Bear Lake Post 84 holds services at the Ovid ward chapel this afternoon. He leaves a 15 year old daughter, his wife having died earlier. He served in Iberia with the Twenty first Infantry and later worked for the O S L R Co as a painter. Government insurance of 312000 was left to his daughter. His body was brought from Salt Lake after an inquest found death due to heart trouble.

Idaho Births and Deaths Rise in February

Idaho records show population up by 371 in February. The Bureau of Vital Statistics reports 693 births and 822 deaths. Sex split 359 boys 333 girls, 17 stillborn, 5 illegitimate, 7 twins. Foreign-born mothers 66. Deaths by cause include 56 pneumonia and 29 influenza. Of 322 deaths, 192 male 130 female, 321 white and 1 colored.

Purebred Hereford sires arrive for local stockmen

A carload of purebred Hereford sires and two cows arrived from Lewiston last week and were distributed to local stockmen who helped purchase the stock. County Agent Chase Kearl selected the bulls after visiting herds in the Snake River country, Oregon and Lewiston. Bulls cost about 144 dollars per head and weighed around 1500 pounds each.
