Bear River fair weekend features horse show and rodeo

The Bear Rangers host horse show and rodeo July 3 and 4 with events at the fair grounds. A Tuesday 2 pm start opens fifteen classes for competition. a free public viewing follows Monday. A chuck wagon breakfast runs 5 am to 10 am on the athletic field, then a Main Street parade tops off the celebration with floats from local firms and groups.

A two day event at the fair grounds will feature rodeo riders and fast horse races. A Fourth of July fireworks display, coordinated by the Paris Lions Club, the American Legion, and the City of Paris, will climax the program both afternoons.

Funeral services for Lydia Marley Weston who died at home in Laketown June 8 were held at the Laketown ward chapel with Bishop Norman E Weston presiding. Logan C of C Caravan To Visit Montpelier Friday

A Logan Cham ber of Commerce caravan with 150 cars and about 300 people plans a southeastern Idaho tour Friday June 29. The event promotes the Cache Valley Centennial and the USAC musical Look to the Land during the July 4th week. A pre-tour visit to Montpelier includes a box lunch and brief program Friday at 1:15 p.m. at Montpelier High School gym.

Jack Kennard of the Soil Conservation Service said he is moving from Bear Lake to Franklin SCD with Preston HQ. Marlene Nye daughter of Vivian Nye was released from Bear Lake Hospital Wednesday after a Saturday morning auto accident near Fish Haven. She suffered multiple rib fractures and cuts from the crash when the car left the road and struck an embankment, ejecting her from the vehicle.

Rollan L. Allred aged 67 died June 14 in Ogden after a long residence in Fairview Wyoming. He was born January 5, 1889 in St. Charles, son of Medwin and Maria Stock Allred. He married Edith A Tsraelson October 5, 1916 in the Salt Lake Temple. she died in 1947. Funeral services were held June 18 in Hyrum, Utah.

Funeral Services for Leola Rich Held in Paris

Funeral services for Leola Passey Rich wife of Ralph Rich who died June 20 were conducted Saturday at 1 p.m. in the Paris 1st ward chapel with Bishop Morris B Athay presiding. Explorers Move From Ganark to Hill Field Training

A group of explorers began a training and base orientation at Hill Field after traveling from Ganark on June first. They rode in a C 47 for a scenic flight over northern Utah, Bear Lake, Star Valley and returned. The second event followed last week as explorers Farrell Merlin Verney Dennis Parker Bart Eborn Glenn Passey led by Wis hin Orr hiked the Washakie trail near Franklin Maple Creek carrying 40 lb packs. They camped at Cache Valley Scout camp then trekked through Gibson basin Horse Lake Hgon basin Bloomington Lakes Minnetonka Cave Fish Haven Camp Nebeker and arrived 2 30 pm after one member fell ill and others weakened but recovered with care and prayer. Mrs Jean Passey and son of Ashton along with Mr and Mrs Hart Sco field and son of Sugar City attended the Jesse Lewis funeral for Mrs Ralph Rich.
