Local residents and relatives visiting across Logan, Pars, Shelley, and nearby towns, including travelers from California, San Bernardino, Salt Lake, Idaho Falls, and Ogden. Families like Haddock, Scheidegger, Barber, Humprey, and Stevenson appear among weekend and holiday gatherings with extended stays and travels to Utah, Idaho, and Pennsylvania on government business.
The report lists weekend guests in Bloomington including Mr and Mrs Lewis Ellison and family from Groveland, Tom Dunford from Clearfield, and Leah and Ann Maris from Logan. Damage controlman fireman L Dee Baker of Paris Idaho and Montpelier Idaho husband of Idomna Baker operates a metal lathe in the pipe shop aboard USS LST 822 in Far Eastern waters. Since February the ship has visited Yokohama and Yokosuka as part of its Far Eastern tour with the Seventh Fleet.
Alice Jensen spent last week with her son Reed and family in Logan then visited Riverside with sisters Mrs Wm Bon cutt and Nina Dustin. Many locals called at Jensen home and other households. The town enjoyed a parade with Primary taking first prize and Relief Society second. residents busied with berry picking and family visits across Utah and Idaho.
Laketown marked the 24th of July with a morning parade led by Mayor Wendell Johnsson and a Legion Post 52 procession. Community events at the meeting house featured games, rides, a greased pole, a pig contest, dances, and food sales. locals and visitors enjoyed a full day of activities broadcast by Sid Irwin.
Visiting relatives and community members shared updates as Martha Stalder improved, Dianne Findlay required a leg cast after an x ray showed a chipped bone, Lanny received medical care for a deep leg cut, Nethelle Weston and family visited, and a large Sunday School crowd welcomed tourists.
Mr and Mrs Amos Hulme visited the Pugmire home last Thursday. Mr and Mrs Arlin Pugmire of Salt Lake spent a couple of days at their home here the past week. Overnight guests Friday at the Pat Dunlap home were her brother Lynn and wife of Port Angler Wash.
The County Commissioners invite sealed bids for fencing and gates around the Court House grounds in Paris Idaho. Bids due by noon August 7 194. Purchaser must remove existing fence at his own cost and pay cash in full upon bid acceptance. The board may reject any or all bids. By Sam V Tunks Clerk.
