Wheat growers will receive national average price supports of 1.83 per bushel for 1947, above the 1.49 base, with loans and new purchase agreements through the county ACA office. Northern Idaho rates are 1.98 for top grades at Portland, southern Idaho 2.06 for several spring and winter varieties, with eligibility limited to U S No 3 or better or No 4/5 by test weight. Loans run to Dec 31, 1947, mature by Apr 30, 1948, or on demand. purchase agreements may be signed through Dec 31, 1947.

Laketown residents hosted and visited friends across Ogden Brigham City and Randolph. Local gatherings included Sacrament meetings directed by Bishops, a rock party with prizes, and birthday celebration. Former Paris Woman Buried Here Monday
Mrs Selma Lois Hubschmidt 54 a Paris native died of a heart ailment at her Salt Lake City home. Born June 5 1898 she was the daughter of Robert and Mary Linwall. She married Ernest Hubschmidt in Paris 1917 later living in Montpelier Los Angeles Modesto Roseburg and Salt Lake City. Funeral services were held in Salt Lake City and remains brought to Paris for burial Monday afternoon.

Del Weaver made several trips to Utah for fruit this past week. Mr and Mrs Darwin Haddock and son Grant visited relatives in Bloomington Sunday. Mr and Mrs Karl Lowe of Pocatello spent the weekend with Mrs Margaret Athay. Mrs Mabel G Howell left Saturday to return to Los Angeles after a month with relatives here. Sherman Lowe joined Palmer Tueller to Blackfoot and returned with a new Land Cruiser Studebaker. Mr and Mrs Standley Rich and two grandchildren of Montpelier were Sunday callers at W Smith Hoge’s. Mrs Orson Wright and son Keith of Preston came Friday to visit sister Mrs Walter Bird and the Dallas Athay home. Ferris Hess and wife joined George Hess to Salt Lake City. George Hess later underwent a major operation. Earl and Larry Spencer spent several days in Yellowstone Park, en route home they struck a cow near Afton Wyoming, damaging the front end of Larry’s Chevrolet.

Delilah Humpherys 78 Dies in Pocatello While Visiting
Delilah Ann Lindsay Humpherys, 78, of Sparks Nevada, died Monday morning in a Pocatello hospital after a brief illness while visiting daughter McKay Pugmire. Born October 28 1873 in Paris Idaho she lived in Paris Ovid and Sparks. She married George A. Humpherys in the Logan temple on September 25 1902 and was preceded in death by him. Surviving children include G Lawrence Humpherys Nampa vert Humpherys Portola Elmo P Humpherys and daughters Mrs Giles Vanderhoff Mrs Harold Shupe Mrs Tracy Howder and Mrs McKay Pugmire. Also 21 grandchildren two great grandchildren and brothers William H Lindsay and Albert E Lindsay of Salt Lake City. Funeral services were to be held in Ovid with burial in Ovid Cemetery.

About twenty five Paris Lions Club members their wives and invited guests enjoyed a picnic last Friday evening at the Paris camp grounds in the canyon. Lion John Hoge received his membership certificate and W Smith Hoge was honored with a Master gold key for recruiting 12 new members. Lion president Tom Tueller and Lions Bill Jensen and W Hoge reported on the Nampa state convention. The evening featured socializing community singing and a picnic lunch.
