East Idaho Polio Immunization Kicks Off At 25 Cents

East Idaho residents in 16 counties can start polio immunization on February 3 for a 25 cent donation. The mass effort, organized by four medical associations, uses Sabin oral vaccine with volunteers donating services and space. A 90 percent turnout of about 175 000 residents aims to curb epidemic polio, immunity via treated sugar cube only.

Paris Lions Club Visited by District Governor LaMar Price

District Governor LaMar A Price of Lions International visited the Paris Lions Club on Monday night and installed two new members Lyle Taggert and Preston Thomas. He praised Lionism and the club's recent achievements and met the board of directors. Zone Chairman Jim Benson from Grace Lions spoke briefly. A letter from Rep Frank Hirschi and notes on state park legislation were read to the club.

Airman Cox Reassigned to Chanute AFB Illinois

Airman Basie Paul R. Cox son of Burnell P. Whittington of Garden City Utah is reassigned from Lackland AFB Texas to Chanute AFB Illinois for weather observer technical training. Cox completed the first phase of training and was chosen for the specialized course due to his interests and aptitudes. Former Reside Shot in Sleep Husband Charged

Mrs. Fred R. McKee born Paris June 25 1910 found dead in bed with a gunshot wound Friday night. Fred R. McKee 64 of Granger Utah charged with first degree murder in Lorraine McKee 52 slaying. McKee signed by City Judge Neeley. She was active in LDS Church PTA and Garden Club and survived by six children and seven grandchildren.

Red Cross Blood Drive Set for January Thirty in Bear Lake

The Red Cross will hold a Bear Lake county blood drawing on January 30 from 2 to 6 pm at A. J. Winters school in Montpelier. The county seeks 150 pints, a quota reached only once in four draws, with 99 pints collected last year. Doctors and nurses will screen donors, who receive a card for future blood needs.
