Escaped convict returned to Idaho prison in Boise
Garl Jefferson McKey, alias Max Jensen, 31, captured after returning to the state prison in Boise last Sunday by guard Gfe Leeper. McKey had escaped Sept 21, 1943 with six others, lived as a cook in several towns, and used the name Jensen. He faced grand larceny terms and lacked a Selective Service card. Sheriff Bunderson, warden Sam Peach, and cafe manager Thomas Whittle aided the recapture. Whittle to receive a $25 reward.

Army Navy V-12 tests set for Fielding March 15
The third Army Navy V-12 qualifying test for the Army Specialized Training program and Navy College program will be held March 15 at 8 in Fielding High School Paris. W B Price announced a leaflet with admission form obtainable at the high school office. Eligible are ages 17 to 21 inclusive high school graduates or graduating by July 1 1944. Intent to test should be reported to Mr Price to order supplies. The exam is for both services and does not obligate enlistment. The program allows government supported academic training and may lead to a Navy commission after officer training.
