Governor Alexander states no special session will be convened presently despite urging urgency. He cites existing statutes and potential future emergencies, noting lawmakers' reluctance and urging economy while preserving authority to call a session if needed.
The funeral for Mrs. Hymas, longtime Paris resident born in Paris forty four years ago, drew a large crowd. She raised seven children with husband H. Hymas who died nine years earlier, ran a confectionery business, and kept the family educated. Speakers at the service praised her courage and patience as the choir sang multiple hymns and Bishop Passey gave the closing benediction. The remains were laid to rest in Paris cemetery.
Bear Lake State Bank has received its allotment of 100 dollar liberty bonds and awaits the 50 dollar bonds from the Federal Reserve. Accrued interest since November 15 must be paid on delivery, with the bank having advanced interest on January 15.
