Third Party Talk Receives Set-Back in Recent Poll
A poll by the Opinion Research Corporation finds only 10 percent of workers favor forming a third party while 47 percent want labor to stay out of politics. One third support labor cooperating with current parties and the rest have no opinion. The survey suggests union leaders overestimated political moves though support for Truman’s fact finding proposal remains high. The piece notes workers think for themselves.
