The Camp Elizabeth chapter of the Daughters of the Pioneers met January 27 at Mrs. Hazel Shepherd’s home with hostesses Mrs. Emily Vallentine and Mrs. Caroline Knudson. Captain Gertrude R. Price presided. program included prayer, community singing, a reading on Julia A. Wilcox, an old sweetheart of mine, and a benediction. A recreational hour followed with refreshments for 23 attendees.
Fielding High School held a Wednesday February 3 program featuring the Shepherd Girls trio Dora Dunn Flora Grimmett and Jean Price with a Ram in dex. A tap dance by Aletta Spencer Doris Humphreys and Donald Stewart showcased modern steps under Bernell Wilkes and Preston Michaelson.

County Agent A E Duke announces dairy meetings with D L Fourt in Bear Lake county on February 8 at Montpelier City Hall and February 9 at the Liberty-meets house. Attendance is encouraged as Fourt will present a heredisc scope demonstration after the sessions.
Washington Feb 2 The Reconstruction Finance Corporation began duties with loans expected soon. Directors sworn in include Charles Gates Dawes Jesse H Jones and Harvey Coach with Eugene Meyer Ogden Mills remaining as officials. Wilson McCarthy was absent awaiting Senate confirmation. Inquiries total about 100 million dollars for loans.
A carload of No. 3 yellow Nebraska corn was sold Tuesday to the Montpelier Coales Lumber Company at $1.04 per cwt. The car will be docked at Paris yards and distributed from there. Another carload is expected within days, per County Agent Duke.
Mrs Martha Bucher of Montpelier a Bremen native who emigrated October 14 1912 has filed her declaration of intention to become a naturalized citizen. William Painter of Bloomington was a town visitor Wednesday.
Fielding hoopsters edged Soda Springs 30 to 20 with Rex Budge scoring 14 and Elmer Peterson 7. First half defense held strong but Fielding faded late as Soda added several open goals. Next Friday February 5 Fielding plays Pocatello at the school gym in a state title push.
