Duard Law, 20, of Paris, died in an early Christmas morning crash in California after his car left the highway and overturned. He died at 11 p.m. at a hospital. The body will arrive by train for funeral at 1 p.m. in Paris. He was born March 19, 1918, and survived by his father, two sisters, and several brothers and half-siblings.

Wood Waste Becomes Synthetic Plastic Aids By Patent
Research workers at the U S Forest Products Laboratory Madison Wis have secured a patent for turning sawdust and wood waste into a durable plastic. The process uses water and chemicals under steam to create a hard dense black material like bakelite that can be molded into buttons doorknobs steering wheel parts and more. The plastic is a poor conductor of heat and can be produced cheaply at 2 to 3 cents a pound with wide potential uses and is offered free for public use due to government policy.
