Montpelier Bear Lake stake split and officers named
The Montpelier Bear Lake stake conference announced dividing Bear Lake into two stakes. The new Montpelier Stake comprises Bern Bennington Raymond Geneva Montpelier 1st 2nd and 3rd Dingle Wardboro and Nounao wards with Wm L Rich as president and Ola Taustrum Silas Wright as counselors. Pres Grant urged unity and thanked retiring Pres Shepherd.

Tax Collectors to Aid Bear Lake County in 1918 Returns
Government income tax officers will visit every county town to assist taxpayers in filing returns for 1917. Postmasters bankers and newspapers will announce visit dates and locations. Exemptions of 1000 for individuals and 2000 for married couples will expand the taxpayer pool.
